The witch just showed up - a couple of days early! Darn it!! So we're on to the next round. The problem is that I have my annual exam scheduled in a few weeks. It looks like I will ovulate 5-6 days before my exam. Is there any danger with having a pap done if we do happen to conceive this cycle given that I'd be 5-6 dpo? If I cancel the appt. it will be another 6+ months to get in, so I don't want to do that if I can avoid it. I can't skip ttc this cycle because this our last cycle ttc for a while due to holidays and family birthdays that would be around the resulting due dates over the next several months.

I would think you are okay having a pap done.

I would think it's okay since they usually give you a pap during the first part of your pregnancy anyways. This would just get it out of the way early ;) Let the dr.s know your trying though.

Thanks, guys! I actually called the doctor's office this morning to make appts. for my kids' birthday checkups (I use my family doctor for my OBGYN). The receptionist had no idea what to tell me so she was going to pass my question along to the nurse and have her call me back. Hopefully she'll tell me the same thing. I'm sure the nurse and my doctor probably think I'm totally neurotic and have all kinds of comments on my charts with some of the things I call about between me and the kids.

I just went through this...yesterday! I figure I was about 4-5 DPO. I asked the Dr. if the PAP would affect anything and she said no. She said even if I was doing IVF she would still have done my PAP...that put my mind at ease a bit.

The nurse finally called me back and said it was perfectly fine and they wouldn't want to reschedule because they want to keep me up-to-date on my paps. She said if I had a confirmed pregnancy by then it would be good to have a heads-up because they would do a less invasive pap, but as I told her, I'll be 6 dpo at the very most and just finally quit spotting and got down to business this morning, I have a feeling I won't be more than 5 days if that. I'm just hoping I O at least a few days before so we don't have to quit BD too soon before.

I was actually looking at getting some vitex to try and O sooner but I don't think even that would make me O early enough to know about it by the appt. I still might try it anyway since it's also supposed to increase progesterone and lengthen LP - with my spotting, I'm a little concerned about my progesterone levels.
