PCOS + South Beach Diet...

Hi ladies...I am juuuust starting to read 'The South Beach Diet' book and although I don't have pcos, I just thought I'd pass this along to those who do...there's a page in the book (again, I'm only in the beginning) that says that there was a woman who had been ttc for 7 years and had pcos - she went on the diet and was pg. within a few months. Not sure if they are trying to take credit for reversing her pcos (!) but it says "it turns out that it (pcos) is due to insulin resistance or prediabetes...by reversing this syndrome with the diet, her periods normalized and a successful pregnancy followed."

Again, I just wanted to pass that along - I honestly know nothing about pcos so I don't presume to know or understand, and I hope this doesn't mean to sound as if problems can be always simplified by a diet change because I am sure that is not the case for everyone...but I just have seen some women here talk about it and so I thought I'd bring this to light in case nobody had heard of it (the book/diet in relation to pcos) I know if it were me, I'd want to hear anything that would possibly help w/ ttc :-) Best wishes ladies!!!!

I do know people who swear by the Atkins diet for PCOS as well. I believe the diets have some similarities, as they are both low-carb. But Atkins has more carb restrictions. I don't have PCOS, but if I did, I'd be sure to try one of these diets. I'm of the "jump through any hoop to conceive" mindset.
