My sister thinks she is PG agian. Her dd is 3 or 4 months old. She has not had a period yet, She did spot once, I dont know when. She just took a test which showed a VERY VERY faint line, but we all saw it. I know a line is a line, But my question is can she still have some hormomes left from her last pg that is making it + or can Breastfeeding cause it to show a + ? TIA ladys!!!!!

I remember reading the instructions of the last HPT I took, while waiting for a line that never showed up...

Anyway, it said that false positives were positive for a while after a birth, but I didn't think it was 3 or 4 months, more like 8 weeks.

Check the instructions, it might say for sure.

Otherwise, congratulations to your sister!

Sounds to me like your sister is pg. She should not still have any hCG in her blood since the baby is 3-4 months old, and breastfeeding wouldn't affect a hpt in any way. It is possible she O'd even while breastfeeding.

Yes you sure can get pg. while breastfeeding!! Women have the misconception that you can't get pg. while breastfeeding because generally women who breastfeed have a delay in getting their period - whereas others get it right away...so that other poster was correct, your sister may have ovulated and wouldn't know it and if she was having unprotected sex than certainly she can be pregnant. I'd get to the dr. and have a blood test to confirm it...and reassure her (since I'm sure she is shocked that it happened so quickly?) that having kids so close together is hard at first but wonderful...tons of positives to it. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 9 months
