PLEASE help! First time TTC Overdue AF

Hello everyone!

My LMP was 9/17. I stopped BCP after 9 years (after taking 7 pills in that newest pack) and then had withdrawl(?) bleeding 10/1 - 10/3. I am usually regular, 28 -29 day cycle. I am 3 days past AFF date. Tender nipples, negative HPT's. I am so confused...should I have been tracking from my LMP or from the first day of withdrawl bleeding? Please, any advice is helpful!

TIA

Maggie 28 y/o.

Sometimes after getting off BCP's it can take quite a while for your body to adjust...it make take a few cycles for AF to become regular again. It can be very frustrating because come of BCP's can also give you PG like symptoms when not pregnant. If you are late have you used a HPT?? Also with FMU??

HTH!

Hi Lynn,

I tried 3 HPT tests already - all BFN. I am not sure what the other thing you referred to is?? I am not charting yet and not tracking temps. I am so confused!! THanks for your reply!

FMU- is first morning urine. It's supposed to be the most concentrated levels of hcg...it's the best to test, or at least hold your bladder for 3 hours before testing.

It could really be though that you just recently got off BCP's. I will tell you though that in July of 2002 was my first month off BCP's in 4 years and on August 10th I got my first BFP!! So I was one of those women that got PG right after stopping BCP...So it can happy, stay positive, and I'm sending you lots and lots of positive vibes ++++++!!!

Welcome and don't worry about knowing all the lingo etc. It will all start making sense to you.

I just want to reiterate what the last poster said. It can take up to six months for your cycles to regulate. So "late" and "normal" kindof go out the window :(

(I'm assuming you are late based on your old cycle before BCP's?)

Just hang in there, don't do anything you wouldn't do if you were PG (because that IS a chance) but also don't drive yourself crazy because your body is all wacked out right now.

I think this is why they tell us to not TTC for a few months off of BCP that way your body can regulate without thinking we are PG all the time (but who can wait right LOL).

I came off the pill in july, had 28 day cycles before and on the pill. My first month off i was so sure i was pregnant, i had all the symptoms, but then i realized and read that all the same symptoms come from getting off the pill are the same as getting pregnant,(nausea, i had sore nipples, tired, increased appetite, bloating, cramps), i ended up not even ovulating until cycle day 31 and started my period on cycle day 44 so your cycles may just be dragging out from the pill.

I counted the withdrawl bleeding as cycle day 1 because regardless your still bleeding and shedding.

Seemed to take forever to get AF and i had no positive Home pregnancy test. This month ive charted and the trend seems the same again. O on CD31 and i expect AF on CD44 and this is cycle 2, long cycles are horrible:( Hopefully they straighten up.

Hope that helps. Good luck to you.

I hope your get your BFP and are one of the lucky women soon!;)
