Me and my husband are trying so hard to get pregnant. We've been married for almost a year, and I fell incomplete without a child. I think I might have messed up my body though, with my bc. I was on a bc pill that I only got my period once every 3 months. I was on it for over a year and about a month before we got married I stopped taking it. We got married and about 3 months later I got my period, well we were going away so I decided to take my pill and try to stop my

If I'm calculating correctly, you have been off the birth control for about 8 months or so? It normally takes about 6 months or so for your body to adjust again, but it could take longer. You might want to talk to your doctor about it to see what they have to say if there is anything they can do to induce your period to try to kick start your cycle.

Going off the 3 month pill cycle shouldn't make your period continue every three months. The pills prevent your period. Whenever you quit taking them (whether it's weeks or months) your body goes through withdrawal (of the hormone in the pill) and bleeding occurs. Your first few cycles off the pill may be very irregular and it may take awhile to get back to a monthly cycle, but it shouldn't be a regular every 3 month thing.

If I were you, I'd talk to your doctor. You might have some hormone issues. Some women take progesterone (a hormone) pills during the second half of their monthly cycle. Other women take pills to induce ovulation (once an egg is released, a period will show up within a few weeks.) I don't think taking your bc pills on/off would cause this. Hopefully there's some simple fix. Or, it might just be

Thanks, I believe it has been about 8 months give or take a few. I wish I could go to the doctor (no insurance), I'm hoping that I get it soon..I should get it this month, but have yet to feel any symptoms. I'm praying that I'm pregnant. I really hope that my body works itself out! Thanks for all the help.
