I am on cd33 I have been using OPK tests daily to see if I was pg. The line is getting darker evryday. Really dark now, but when I take and HPT test it comes out NEG. WHY? Am I pregnant or not? Has anybody have this happen to them? If so what was the outcome?

TIA

Thats weird. How many dpo are you? Maybe the hpt you are using detects a different level than the opk. I dont really know.

If the line on your OPK is getting darker, it's because your body's getting ready to ovulate, not because you're pregnant. Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs) test for LH (luteinizing hormone); women have an LH surge just before they ovulate, and this is what makes the line darker or lighter, depending on how soon your body will ovulate. HPTs (home pregnancy tests) test for hcg, a hormone your body only produces when you're pregnant. Here: http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/opk.html This should help clear up any other questions you may have!

Hope that helps!

OPK can predict pregnancy too. I'm currently pregnant with my little Junebug. I took a hpt on dpo11 and had a very faint +, later that evening, I took a OPK test to see what it said (I had heard it could detect pregnancy) and it was also positive. I definately am pregnant and I was definately pregnant when I got the + OPK on dpo11.

Now, I'm not saying that your pregnant, but maybe the hpt you are using detects a higher hcg level. Try using one of the early tests like FRE or wait a few more days.

Good luck to you.
