PMS or Ovulation?

Hi -- I'm new to this so I hope I can find responses! I've always been irregular, so it's hard for me to tell when it's actually my time of month. I'm going on my second month without a visit from Flow, (usually it's about every other month, although the past couple times it has occurred monthly) but a couple weeks ago, I had the same abdomen pains as I get right before my time of month, but nothing happened. It ached the entire week! We'd had intercouse a couple times during that week...and I'm still waiting for my period. I don't know if it was ovulation or if I'm just still irregular. Can anyone tell me what my problem may be? We've just started trying to conceive for the past couple months. No luck with ovulation tests or temp gauging.

I'm not going to be much help. If you normally get pains when you ovulate, it certainly could be that. I guess you'll know if AF ends up coming about 14 days after that happened. Once you ovulate, you only have a certain amount of time before AF comes no matter what. That is called your luteal phase. I think I spelled that wrong though. Anyway, if you normally only get AF every other month or so, it may be that you just don't ovulate until, say, the 30th day of your cycle or something like that. When you say that you have had no luck in the temperature charting, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean you've charted and it didn't have any patterns to the temperatures? Or do you mean that for whatever reason you cannot take your temperature every morning? Just curious because it would be a lot of help in finding out what is going on.

I guess I don't know what the pains were. It is very frustrating to be so up in the air.

Have you been keepin track of your cervical fluid? That might be your best indicator of when to BD if temping does not work for you. You can find lots of info on the internet. you could look up the Billings method, they have a lot of good info on telling by your cervical mucus when you are fertile, even with irregular cycles. If you had cramping like AF and she did not show could you possibly be prego? Just a thought, specially since it has been coming every month lately. Otherwise maybe it was O. Let us know what happens for you! GL and I hope you can get things figured out!!!

Thanks for responding -- my very first message!

When I was talking about the temp thing, I was waiting until Flo comes, like it says to, and then start charting from there. Well, I'm still waiting. I was just doing my temp just to practice doing it. At first it was in the 96 degree range, then it would be in the low 97.-something range. Not a big difference when I would do it. And no, I don't normally get those pains like that, especially that last a week! My chest is feeling a little sore, so maybe I can get some answer either way, pretty soon.

I did check out your website -- she is an angel for sure.

Thanks.

Thank you for responding. I appreciate your input.

No, I never do anything with the cervical fluid, although what I've seen does vary. I have to admit, I'm pretty dense when it comes to this! It is all so new to me! I'm hoping that the delay and the abdomen pain does mean prego, but I can't hold my breath! I'm going over 2 months now with no Flo, so hopefully something will let me know one way or the other soon. I did a test a few weeks ago (before the pain that week) and nothing. Maybe that was my magical week.

Thanks for your input. I think I'll try gauging the fluid next.
