what is a pre-O dip? i thought you oed on the day of the dip not after. why do some women o on the day of the dip and some after the dip? is it the day of the dip you o or the day before the temp rise you o even if the drop was a few days before? how do i know when i O?

sorry for all the ?s but i just keep getting more confused the more i learn here. this cycle is really messing me up. thanks.

Angela-

Here is a link to my charts. I have a definite Pre-O dip.

http://www.FertilityFriend.com/home/26683

Most people have a dip the day before they O. I'm not sure what hormone triggers it, but I know I have a spike the day or two after I O. In the beginning charting is not a good way to predict O, but to confirm and track after the fact. After a few months, however, you'll start to see a pattern in your cycle and you can predict O. To know when to BD, use your CM and OPKs. Also, you can use you CP (I don't do this, but lots of people do). Your CM and OPK will show you a few days before O happens so you can get to BDing. Since sperm live up to 3 days is fertile quality CM (like egg whites) it's better for you to BD before you O. So much happens to sperm after they are "deposited" that the 12-24 hours an egg lives might not be long enough for the little guys to get transforming!!

Good Luck to you!!

I think your BD is very good! Since you've had fertile quality CM for a few days, his spermies can live for up to 3 days. If you're BDing every other day, I would continue until after you've confirmed ovulation!

Good Luck!
