PreCare Chewable Prenatals Question

Anyone taking precare chewable prenatal vitamins? I've been taking them about 3 weeks now. I asked for a script from my ob because I did research. My ob (who I am never going back to) had nothing to say to my questions. Here they are:

1. I've read you should consume little vitamin A during pregnancy.

2. Precare doesn't have b-12 so I've been supplementing (I'm an ova/lacto vegetarian).

3. Is 1mg of folic acid too much?

Any advice is appreciated.

I'm afraid I don't know too many answers to your questions, other than:

3) I don't believe that's too much folic acid. While I think that sounds like more than a RDA, I know prenatal vits commonly contain MORE than 100% of the RDA of folic acid, because folic acid prevents birth defects.

I do know that Vitamin A has been found to counteract the absorption of calcium, so a lot of women's vitamins (like One-a-Day Women's Formula) have cut back the Vit A in each pill from a 100% value to 50%.

Good luck!

Thanks ;) I was reading about vitamin A and what I read said that you get enough day to day and supplementing may not be healthy for a growing baby.

I think it's time to do a little more research.
