Prenatal Vitamin Question

I have been taking a prenatal vitamin for quite some time, and most of the time, it makes me feel sick to my stomach. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them, and if so, is there anything I can do so that I don't feel sick every time I take it? (I have tried taking it with and without food...nothing seems to really help!) Is it possible that I am getting too many vitamins in my system?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated! Thanks :o)

It may be the iron in your pill...have you tried switching prenatals..sometimes this is all it takes...If it bothers you that bad I would talk to him/her about it..there are tons of good prenatals out there...also you might want to take it right before you go to bed..mine always made me a little sick to my stomach so I started taking them at night right before bed..and that helped alot..hope this helps..

Amber, prenatals have always done the same thing to me. I think it's the iron in them. Anyways, the only thing that I've found that seems to remotely help is taking them right before bed so I sleep through the nausea.

Thanks for the ideas! That is a good idea...I will have to try that and see if it makes a difference! I have changed vitamin brands, and each one I try, seems to do the same thing. I'll try taking them before bed and see what happens.

Thanks and have a nice weekend! :o)

I take Pre-Care Conceive and they too make me ill when I take them.

Taking them right before be seems to do the trick.

I don't know if this would help or not, but I have a friend in the same situation. Her doctor switched her to a vitamin called premesis....I think that is how you spell it....anyway it has made a world of difference for her. It is made for people who get sick on the other vitamins.

Here is an easy way for your vitamins...

The exact samething was happening to me. My pre-care conceive was making me sick and the doc told me I could take the Womens vitamins at GNC but those made me sick too and constipated. So when I talked to her last week she told me I could take 1 Flinstone Complete vitamin a day. I have been doing that and feel great.

Thanks so much for all of the great ideas! I'll have to try them all and see which works best for me...I am supposed to be going back to the doctor sometime within the next week or so for a progesterone (sp?) test, so I can ask then. (That is, if I O this month...I am on day 18, and nothing yet! Sheesh!) Anyway, thank you all so much!

Sounds like to me you need to get a different Prenatal vit. There are some that just don't agree with you. I am taking Prima Care. It is a very good one. I don't know what you are taking but see if you can get a different one. Good Luck!
