I bought a BD thermometer to start temping. The problem is I can't set a time to temp. For instance, 2 nights ago, DD woke up at 3:30am and I had to get up with her. DH is in the fire department and last night the pager went off at 2:40am so I was up. Then I got up with DD at 6 am.

It seems like I can't get

I have a 14 month old DS who makes up at least once, usually twice a night to breastfeed. Usually it's around 1am and 6 or 7am and then he's up for good around 8:30 or so. So what I do is set my alarm to wake me at 8am and take it then, that was I've had enough sleep that it should be pretty accurate. It seems to work pretty well, my charts are a little rocky, but they definitely do the job.

I would suggest just temping whenever it is you happen to get up.

DH is in the Army and has a crazy schedule and I have a small bladder, so temping is hard for me, too. If I wake up and notice that at least three hours have gone by, I take my BBT. It's sometimes three times a night! When I get for good, I take the average of any temps I took during the night. Mine usually don't vary that much though. Last night I took it twice, and they were both the same! HTH! GL!!!!
