Progesterone

I'm kind of torn about what to do. SO and I decided to try and conceive, finally. The problem is that I won't get full medical through his employer until June 1st. My first pregnancy, I miscarried. My second, they tested, after I got pregnant for hormone levels and they put me on Progesterone so I could keep the pregnancy but, the insurance company and the doctor argued about whether or not Progesterone was a fertility drug. Now, I'm trying to find a clinic or someone that will help me once we get pregnant, that tests hormone levels and they are all turning me away saying I need to see a fertility specialist. So, it's basically coming down to money. But, if I am pregnant and it's a case of life or death, they have to give me the progesterone, regardless of it being a fertility drug. It's kind of bringing me down. This is supposed to be one of the happiest time of our lives.

So, my question is, what do I do now? Still try to conceive and try and make it work or stop until the medical insurance comes?

This may not be the popular opinion here but I say wait. If this is something you need (Prog.) to keep from having a miscarriage I'd say it's worth the wait. True you could probably go ahead and get PG and be sent to a doctor for prog. but you'd pay out of pocket and that can be VERY expensive (BTDT). Besides, aren't you supposed to be on prog. BEFORE you conceieve? I was told that it's almost a waste to take it once you are already PG. It benefits you more to take it before and then until the end of the first trimester (correct me if I'm wrong, please). I too have to get prog. levels checked but they've always been fine (through both pregnancies, thank God!). So I don't have first hand experience.

Anyway, I'm rambling. LOL! Good luck to you with what ever you decide.

Oh sweety I'm so sorry you're going through this from what I know

I think progesterone is not part of fertility that's the weirds thing I ever heard The only thing I could say is you need to talk to your insurance yourself. If that doesn't work If you should asks DR About progesterone pricing and try to get the cheaps one. progesterone comes in 3 forms and I think the pills are the cheaps. Progesterone is very important when it comes to the lining of the uterines so I think you should try and get it.

Wish you luck
