Progesterone? Estrogen? Help!!

So, DH and I were scheduled for our first IUI this cycle; I was going to go through the cycle w/o meds. I went in for my u/s and blood work on Monday (cd14) and my blood work showed I had already O'ed. (boo, hiss, we missed it for this month).

I am typically a late ovulater (cd 18) and my chart this month shows no sustained thermal shift yet. On top of that, my fertility monitor only just gave me my first "high" today (cd 16).

Can anyone make sense of this? It is so confusing; is it possible that I have not O'ed even though my progesterone level said I did?

Thanks for you answers, it helps to hear good thoughts.

I have been charting for seven months now, using OPKs the first five months and the fertility monitor for the last two. I have been a late ovulator, pretty much always on CD 18.

I don't know why this cycle, our first for IUI would decide to go all wonky!

And I don't understand why my progesterone would indicate O if my temps and fertility monitor are saying it hasn't happened.

I am somewhat surprised that your doc did not do an US to look for your follicles.

This is our routine:

I temp and use OPKs to determine my surge.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. They do measure my follies - I was at 14mm on Monday, which would have been great w/my timing. Now she says they were probably collapsing after my O. The weird thing is I still do not have a sustained thermal shift and I got my peak reading on my fertility monitor this morning. I called the doctor's and she just said the progesterone tests show that I have already ovulated. I wonder if DH and I's timing has just been off for a long time if they fertility monitor and temps have been off - although the months I have CM, it does coincide w/the monitor and temps. Oh well, next month the doc wants to start monitoring me early and I am all for that, even if it is $300 per u/s and blood work - I can't go through another crazy month like this!
