Progesterone Levels - help

I need some advice on progesterone levels. For those who have had blood work done DPO8 (or week before AF), what levels did you have when you were pg or were not pg?

My dr. called yesterday and told me that my level was 7.9 which was low but to call her the minute I get a BFP. So I am now expecting AF next week based on this info. But then she also told me the month she conceived her level was at 6.

So, I don't know what to think. I've seen so many people come back with 25 or 50, but never any that were low and carried to full-term.

Any advice and numbers are greatly appreciated.

THANKS in advance,

Melinda

Well when I wasn't pregnant my level was 12. Then when I was PG and at 11DPO it was 28. Then a week later it was 17 and then a week later 9. SO I of course freaked out and my RE put me on progesterone suppositories. She wasn't worried about 9 because some women are fine with low, including herself. Hers was at 7 during her pregnancy with her son. I have no idea what my levels were at when I was PG w/ my son to compare to this pregnancy. I am on 100mg twice a day and the week after I started them it was up to 17. So I am grateful to be put on them. Progesterone is tricky because some women have a high amt of 45 and aren't PG. But progesterone flucuates throughout the day. I wish you luck!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for your reply. Since yesterday afternoon after the call (5pmEST), I have been very sick to my stomach - no dinner, with cramping and a headache. Woke up this morning ok, but just a few minutes ago (4:30EST), started all over again. Brings back alot of flashbacks to my pg with my DS. Night m/s starting at the end of the workday. So, now it makes me wonder whether to test early or not in case my prog levels are low and need to be supplemented.

What dpo did you test?

THANKS again!

Progesterone level @7 dpo and be from anywere from 3 or higher. My progesterone is normal very low normal around 12 but one cycle I went up to 28 @7 dpo and I still wasn't PG.

anyway Progesterone levels @7 dpo rarely have anything to do with PG. My Re told me sometime it's high sometimes it low. So don't worry to much about it.

But if you do get a BFP sometime soon make sure they check it again just to make sure it is rising.

Wish you the best of luck

It was at 10DPO that I tested. I didn't expect to see anything because I thought Af had come but I guess it ended up being implantion. I went to the dr at 11DPO to test the HCG and progesterone because I wanted to confirm what the HPT said. GOOD LUCK

Oh thanks gals so much for your response. I have been dying thinking that I was having imaginary symptoms when I was clearly going to have my AF (based on those levels). Thanks for your reassurance and I won't fret anymore until Monday when AF is not wanted.

And Meliss - I have been TTC for 5 months and been unsuccessful. And when I explained that the past 2 cycles have been spotting for 2-3 days before AF arrives (which is unusual for me), she decided she wanted to check my levels. She said if I am unsuccessful again this month - she will tweak some things to see if it will help. She is so good. So, just ask if prog might be a problem you need to address and hopefully yours will test to be sure too.

THANKS again - you girls are great!
