Hey Ladies Quick Question

Mr GYN put me on Prometrium to help me start my period and I was wondering will I be ovulating while taking this medication and if so when. Has anyone here been on this med and if so what was your exp. with it

Thanks Everyone

Prometrium is a highly micronized form of progesterone. It helps to build up your uterine lining; when you cease taking the Prometrium you will have a period and will shed your lining. Prometrium does NOT induce ovulation; it is often used in connection with Clomid (Prometrium helps bring on your period, while Clomid forces the ovulation). You may still ovulate on your own while on the Prometrium though (if you don't need Clomid).

I'm almost to the end of my first 14-day regimen of Prometrium. Heed the pharmacy leaflet and do NOT take it with food - I did the first day and the result was major dizziness and exhaustion. More advice: take your pill at night before you go to bed, that way you sleep through most of the side effects. I get the dizziness every day, but at least I sleep through it. I also occasionally feel nauseous throughout the day, but haven't actually been sick to my stomach.

I took it post O through 14 weeks and thanks to that drug, I have two babies on the way. No side effects. I think it's a great drug. Good luck!
