Hey everyone,

I'm a little confused about the usage of Green tea to increase CM, I have several sources that say it works wonders and several others that warn against it. What has been your experiences?

I don't know about green tea but I've used carrots. You can also use Robitussin. Have you tried those? I thought I read that green tea wasn't good for pregnancy so I avoid it personally.

Hi Magoooda,

Apparently the catechins in green tea can inhibit the absorption of folic acid which is why it is not recommended while TTC or during pregnancy. If you do decide to use it to increase CM then it is recommended that you take 1600mg of folic acid. I would also only drink it up until O and then stop.

Personally, I have not tried green tea (although I do love it) because of the impact on folic acid. This past cycle I drank lots of carrot juice, and that worked quite well. I have also read of women having success with V8 Splash.

HTH and best of luck!!!

Just reviewed the info. on folic acid, and they actually recommend an additional 1600mg if you drink green tea. So that is actually 2400mg daily. Sorry for the confusion.
