Question about implantation bleeding...

Ok, I have been pg before, and don't ever remember implantation bleeding. Is it so light that if you didn't know you should be looking for it you might miss it? Does it always happen, could it have not happened with my dd? I just keep reading about it, and got to thinking I never saw it with dd.
