Ok - I had been on the pill where you did not get a period, and then when I went off, I had a very heavy period for about 2 days. My husband and I were trying between the going off the pill and start of the period. Could I be pregnant? How do you gauge after being on the long term bc?
Thanks

I took bcp for seven years on and off. Every woman is different, so you should start temping and charting your cm and whatnot. Also get some OPK's. I have been birth control free for four cycles now and am now finally having a normal (for me) cycle. You could be pg.....Wait 10-14 days and then test at home. My cycles were CRAZY when I stopped my bcp. I had a 14 day cycle, follwed by two thirty-odd day cycles with no sign of O. This most recent cycle was 29 days with O at day 15, which is how it was on bcp. Chart away and GL!

I have really no idea how to do this! My first was a complete accident, and my second was about three months of hit and miss, just trying without any charting or anything. Can someone point me in the direction of how to do all of this? Thanks!

I started charted charting after some advice from my GYN. I LOATHE going to the DR, so this way, I can see what's going on and if anything seems abnormal, I can make an appt.....Anyway, if you would like to start charting your fertility signs, get some reliable info from the Internet or a book on fertility at a local bookstore or library. My local library had some easy-to-read books. I check my cervix every morning after I take my BBT (Basal Body Temperature). There are special thermometers for this at the pharmacy. Don't by a cheap-o regular thermometer. it won't be sensitive enough. You might also want to go to a Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, or Amazon.com and pick up some OPKs(Ovulation Predictor Kits). Read all the information that comes with them and with the thermometer. These should be all the supplies you need. A finger, a BBT, OPKs, and some literature. Next, you can choose to get some graph paper or a calender and make your own charts....or use iVillage or fertilityfriend.com to record your data. I prefer the Internet. You can begin charting anytime you like, but most women start charting on the first day of a period. It is considered cycle day one, and makes
