Question about normal BBT's
| Tue, 07-22-2003 - 12:35pm |
Hi everyone!
I am just curious to know if there is a "normal" range for BBT's. Whenever I see someone's chart their BBT's are usually in the 97 range. I just started charting this month and my BBT's range from 96.5-96.8. Is this normal? It seems low to me, but I don't know what the problem would be if it's not normal. Can someone help?

I wanted to let you know that I have seen charts with people that they never rise above 96.7 until after the o. I don't know if this helps but I think that every person is different. Are you using a therm. with good batteries? Sometimes if the batteries are low it does not read the temp. right. Plus you have a couple of differnt hotspots in your mouth. Some people place the therm all the way in the back of the mouth wear your wisdom teeth would be. I personally place it dirrectly under my tongue a little bit to the left. Just if you change where you postiion the therm it will affect your chart. Stick with the same area! How this helps!

Everyone is different. I had the same question when I started temping as my pre-o temps average 96.9. I have also answered a few questions similar to yours. I don't think it is a problem. I haven't run into anyone who says that it is. The two factors I have come across that effect my temps are waking time and where you place the thermometer. I usually place mine kinda in the middle on the right side. Someone had posted the directions to their termometer which stated you should put it closer to your molars. I have noticed a higher temp when I do that. I'm just going to continue to do what I have been doing. I wake and temp at 5am. I've noticed when I wake later my temps are usually .4 degrees higher. I hope this helps!
You can check out my charts if you like.
