Question about opk

Hello all,
I used an OPK strip this morning for the very first time. I am on day 9 and don't expect to o until dec. 8th. However this morning using the opk for the first time, the test strip came out darker than the control. However that doesn't make any sense, because I only finished AF a few days ago and I have a 30 day cycle, no cervical fluid. I also just started temping yesterday, however my temp has been low. I then decided to try another strip about 8 hours later, and not only was the test line not darker, it wasn't there at all! What does this mean??? Thanks so much in advance for your answers!

Typically the way OPK's work is, whenever you finally get a test line that shows up darker than the control line, it means ovulation should occur within the next 24-48hrs. Ovulation typically only lasts about 12-24hrs. You may have already ovulated, and the LH hormone surge

It just seems so odd that I would O right now, do you know of anything that would make it be such a strong positive other than Oing? Such as could my prenatal vitamins effect it? That's about the only thing I take! No fertility drugs or anything, and I just got done my period, so I'm not preggo. I wasn't planning on getting down to business with the BDing until this weekend, but I guess we should try and do it tonight too, just in case that strip is right.

lol, its funny you ask that. The only other hormone in your body that might make the test line darker than the control line, is hCG, the preggo hormone. Maybe you should take an hpt just in case, and if its bfn, then you know for sure that you are O'ing!! :) Most Dr's and nurses will say that its not uncommon to have a period that is different than
