Question about OPKs

After reading posts on this board for the last 2 months, I know a lot of you are OPK 'experts' and I'm hoping someone will be able to answer my questions.
I have been charting for about 3 years and feel like I can predict my ovulation pretty well based on CM, CP, etc. I am trying an OPK this month just to get another data point (OK, so I am obsessing...) and so far I am finding them pretty confusing.
I am expecting to O tomorrow (day 19) and I have been testing with OPK since day 16. So far they have all been -. Typically I test around noon. I'm wondering if I should be using FMU? Should I test several times a day? How soon before ovulation should I expect to see a surge? TIA for any info & advice you can pass along.
I'd also like to say that I really enjoy this board and feel so lucky to have found a group of women that are so supportive, knowledgeable, and fun to 'listen' to. It has been such a great outlet when few others in my life can really understand TTC and don't get bored hearing all the daily drama. So, thanks and best of luck to you all!

You can certainly test more than once in a day (I know I've been tempted to).
And finally, once you get a + result on your OPK, you will ovulate 24-36 hours after that + result.
Hope this helps; good luck and baby dust to you!
