Does anyone on this board use the Ovacue monitor? What are your opinions on the Ovacue vs the Clearblue Fertility Monitor? Any input would be helpful. Thank you!

Hi there. Just wanted to let you know that I own the Clearblue Easy Fertility monitor and I LOVE it! It's very accurate in detecting your high fert. days and your peak days (which are the important one's) It is a bit expensive (around $200.00) but I got mine off ebay for $125.00 and the testing sticks are a bit much to ($50.00 for a box of 30) but your first box you'll end up using about 15 of the sticks as the monitor is getting to know your cycle and it will ask you to test for a few days longer to determine the length of your cycle but the next month it will go down to 10 sticks. This will be my 2nd month using it. Last month it detected my LH surge on cd 21 (I O late due to late cycle 34 days) so it does work. I don't have much info on the other monitor you described but I know this is the most popular one on the market...it better be for the price.

Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help.

i have used the clear blue easy for 7 months, with no success...it sure beats taking temps, charting, etc if your busy.....however it did not show an ovulation for 2 months and i dont know if it was bc i didnt ( i dont have problems that i know of ) of if the FMU wasnt concentrated enough which i have heard can cause the tester not to show an O. The sticks are $50 for a box which last anywhere from 2-3 cycles and it can really start to add up...

i actually just bought the Ovacue a week ago and will try that..i know i know lots of $$$$$ spent. it will actually confirm your ovulation and you dont have to keep buying sticks..the verdict is out. i am actually going to use both the CPE and Ovacue to compare results. i am going to try to chart temp too...bc it really bites to have to do that 2 week wait for AF or pregnancy and the temps will tell you sooner....i know iknow i am completely insane!

i htink to use both you have to have certain cycles lengths, etc....

hope this helps

love rachel

Rachel,

I am surprised you never got Peak fert. days on your monitor. Did you get any high fert. days at least? Maybe you're not Oing then, you should get that checked. Also, to clear up something, the monitors never confirm with you that you actually Oed, the only certain way to tell is by temping as you mentioned, you'll get a temp spike the day after O or going to your OB and getting a progestrone test on cd 21 (about 7 days after suspected O) and the test can tell how high your progesterone levels are if you Oed, the higher number the better.

You can use the monitor if you af is 24-42 days long each month.

HTH.

the ovacue has a vaginal probe that comes with it and test the chemicals or whatever so that you are supposed to be able to confirm with you did indeed O or not....thats the reason i got it, i guess ill see what happens

yeah i had peak fertility but it just never went to the LH surge it was a faint second line, i dont know what the heck happened but a burned up a bunch of those darn sticks trying to find out if i would ever O.

i did check with the doctor and since i have been pretty regular and had ultrasound etc.. he said sometimes that you may miss an O here and there and it can be normal, plus he said it may not have read things correctly..if your urine is too dilute, etc....

well i think AF is on here way gosh darn it- so i guess i will have a new cycle to test all the stuff out

thanks rachel
