Question on CP

I think it's very interesting how people check their CM & CP for O. I'm not having a problem conceiving, just curious. I'm CD8 on a 28 day cycle. What should my CP feel like at this point and what should it feel like right before O. What would it feel like if your were pg.

I was wondering the same thing. If you go to FertilityFriend.com and click on the handbook, there is a portion dedicated to the different cp's and cm's. hope this help!

Checking your cp and cm for charting purposes isn't just for those having a problem conceiving...it is to maximize your chances of doing it...and getting the best outcome as soon as possible...

cm at the stage you are at..will be none more than likely...you will be dry..as you get closer to o..you will notice more cm...it will turn from just wetness to what is known as ewcm...cm that is egg white consistency and is also very strecthy..like if you hold it out in your fingers...it will stretch and not break for up to an inch...this is what the sperm needs to survive to get to the egg...and also with this it can live up to 5 days inside a woman...

cp at the stage you are at..maybe low..pointed like the end of you nose..and closed tight...as you progress towards o..it will usually open up go high up...and will become soft to the touch...during pg it closes shut and is usually very low and long at the beginning of pg..but as you near your due date...it will start to open with dialation and start to become very high and soft with effacement... of course effacement happens first then dialation...I always wanted to check my own dialation during pg at the end...but as I got closer I could never find it myself...and the doctor would almost kill me trying to get to it...when you have had more than one baby the cervix also early in pg feels to be what they term as "dimpled" which means not yet dialating or going into early latent labor..but just not as tight and closed as it was with your first baby...I also found this..and was alarmed and had the doctor check it immediately..but it is not a concern..just usual behavior..hope this helps..

Thanks for all that helpful info. i'm going to keep checking to see if I can figure it out. I guess it takes some adjusting to know exactly what your looking for so I will continue to use OPK's as well.
