Just wondering how will your insurance handle your pg, birth, baby well visits, or any ART you might need? I think mine is pretty good. Let me know.

$10 copay for 1st prenatal visit - 100% after

$40 copay for hospital - 100% after

$15 copay for all well baby visits

-Up to 6 ART procedures (all covered)

-Any prescripts for infertility will be $10 copay

-No length of time needed before ARTs are covered.

In case this is really good (I think it might be)my insurance carrier is United HealthCare Enhanced Plan (PPO).

I'm in HR so this kind of stuff is of interest to me, or it's becuase I'm crazy and already know this stuff.

Just curious to see where we all fall.

If I remeber correctly from my last pg

$10.00 for first visit

$10.00 copay on tests (u/s etc)

100% hospital

I pay a copay of $10 to the ob/gyn office for the convience of getting

all my labs done there. If not, I'd have to go to an outside lab and have to

wait for all results.

with my DS birth it was pretty much the same. As long as the Dr deemed it necessary, it was covered under that initial $10 co-pay. I had about 20 ultrasounds and they were all covered (none were for just seeing gender either)

For the next birth, I will be paying cash though-about $4000 will cover it at the birthing center- This is how I get rewarded for quitting my paying job to be a SAHM-no insurance! c'est la vie!

Pediatricians visits are totally separate

Believe me when I tell you that you are pretty lucky....I am an insurance agent and have a number of years of selling health insurance plans and this is about the best I have seen yet. Good Luck to you.

I will just say THANK GOD for being Canadian when it comes to this stuff! I will pay nothing. Everything is completely taken care of through our health care system. I'm even going through cycle monitering- b/t, u/s, s/a and hsg at absolutely no expense. Phew!!!!! AND- just to rub it in ;o) I will get one year (yes...ONE YEAR) paid maternity leave when the time comes.

Do I dare try to explain?

I have a high deductible but an empolyer paid MSA- Medical Savings Account. I should have enough in my MSA account that I will have no out of pocket expenses. My deductible is $4000- anything after that is covered 100%. This would include any medical expense. The nice thing with the MSA account is anything in it when I leave the company I take with me. Of course I plan on leaving after I give birth to hopefully be a SAHM and I'm sure after the birth there will be nothing in there.

How long does it take for benefits to start at your company Cat? I think I want a job there!!! LOL.

I want to move to the great white north as well!!

Our insurance starts on day 1 of employment! We're very lucky. My company is owned by Reed Elsevier. They're a HUGE company owning everything from Lexis-Nexis to Variety Magazine.

I'm very lucky, however, the cost isn't cheap!

yes, it is wonderful how everything is covered, and the one year maternity leave is so awesome. BUT, I know that Canadians often have to wait several months for procedures because of the backups, procedures that you can schedule in the states for next week. There are pros and cons!

You have great insurance. I have been working in health insurance for four and half years. I agree that is one of the best plans I have seen. I have a 15 copay 500 ded. and 20% up to 5000 then the rest is paid by my insurance. But right now. They are only coverage some thing for me TTC. I would keep that insurance as long as possible. Good luck!!

I just got on my husband's insurance and so I pay:

$15.00 Copay on the first visit and NOTHING until I am in charge of 10% of the delivery. Is that good? 10% of delivery??? I am just glad to have health insurance again since I am insulin resistant/type II diabetic... (w/ allthe complications)
