Hi!

I would like to start charting my BBT next cycle, so If I start on CD1 and say for example my temp is 97.5 that day, where do I draw the cover line?

I think I missed my window of opportunity this month :( , DH is out of the province so I went to go visit him for 5 straight days of BD, (I tried to plan my trip around my ovulation)but I think I O'd late, due to this pesky ovarian cysts that is throwing my cycles totally off!!!!!!!! (my last 4 cycles have been 39d, 29d, 32d, & 37d)gggrrrrrr.

Well if you can give me some guidance on my temping question I'd sure apprciate it.

Good luck all!

GA Blaise and huge ((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))))! Log onto FertilityFriend.com or babymed.com for free charting too...... I'm sorry Hon, your cl can't be drawn until after you o...it's based on your temps. Typically the coverline is drawn 0.1 degree above your highest temp from the previous six day lower temps right before o occurs. Now charting helps you see when o occurs, because your temps will generally be on a bit of a level or slightly downward pattern and then take a pretty big dip at ovulation and then start to climb..so you really don't know where that cl is going to be until 2/3 maybe even 4 days after o. The best thing to do while charting to help you hit that fertile window is to check your cp (cervix position) and cm (cervical mucous) and in my opinion the best way to do that is to insert a clean dry finger into your vagina and feel your cervix and scoop out a little cm with your finger. During o your cervix will be very high and soft (hard to reach with your fingertip) and you'll feel it slightly open..then ater o it closes and may or may not drop down a bit lower and hardens back up. The mucous during o should be eggwhitish (ew) or watery (what mine always is). Here are two wonderful articles I've used to help get myself and other women going on the cp and cm checks.

GL Sweetie- I hope you'll get that bfp before you start charting ;) ;)!!!

Please post your chart for us to see when you get it up and going- we'll help you figure it out. Make sure you're using a basal body thermometer (available at local drug stores/pharmacies by the hpt's) and try to take you temp consistently at the same time first thing in the morning before you get up and moving around.

Blaise-

I would use Fertility Friend at www.fertilityfriend.com. A lot of people on this board use it. It's very good and draws cover lines and everything for you. It even has a special VIP section (I don't use this) that has super fertility friend options.

This way, you can make sure the chart is accurate and it looks good!

good Luck!

Hi. Actually.. You have to wait for your O day to get your coverline.. (usually the 3rd day after O.. to make sure of the temp shift, etc)..

To figure out your coverline.. Look at your O day.. then look at the 6 days before O.. and draw your coverline .1 (if F*.. and I believe it's .5 if C* is used)... above the highest temp in those 6 pre-O days. And remember: most ladies' coverlines do change from month to month.. and if you're unfortunate enough to end up charting for 2 years or more.. you will see that you can usually predict what your coverline will be for any given month... and that you may even have a "typical" coverline (mine's 97.7 more often than not)....

Hope this helps.

=)
