Quick OPK ?

Hi ladies,
This is my fist time using an OPK, so bear with me: last night I got a positive (the test band was just a hair of a shade lighter than the control,) and this evening the test band was much lighter than the control. So...my question is, does this mean that the surge has passed, but I haven't necessarily O'd yet...I could be O'ing as I type, right? The directions say that O generally takes place 24-48 hours after the surge. I'm also charting for the fist time, so I assume that once my temp goes up the egg has flown the coop!
Just want to make sure I have this right.
Thanks!

I am not sure which brand you are using or when you started using it.
