results of my HSG today

Ok, so I went for my HSG test today. I was VERY ANXIOUS about it as I had read some horrible comments online and worked myself into a panic attack. The catheter going in, etc. wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be ... it was a little worse than a pap. The dye went in and right away filled up the uterus so he said thats great. He said its shaped fine, positioned fine, etc. The dye then filled right up in the left tube. He said its wide open and perfect. So the uterus was full and the left tube but before the right tube would fill it was starting to cramp a TON, and was killing me. I heard my RE talking to the tech and saying "Do you think so? Yes, I think so too." And so they stopped and both said they were certain the right tube was also clear but didn't want to keep pushing because sometimes one tube takes longer than the other to fill up and since it was cramping for me he said he didn't see the need to keep pushing it. He said he could say almost positively that tube was clear.

Hmph. So that was my last test, and everything is fine, so odds are I come up as "unexplained" as to why it has yet to happen. He said I have a greater chance this month just from the HSG and it dilates the tubes. I'm due to ovulate probably on Sunday, maybe Monday, so we'll begin BDing tomorrow.

I meet up with him again on April 1.

Glad it went well. That is really good news. Sometimes you just need to "flush the pipes". That's how it was for me, 10 months of nada, did the HSG, got my BFP for Adam on the same cycle :) You actually have 3-4months of better likelyhood because the dye has a lubricating quality to it. Get BD-ing!! Good luck!!

Robin,

I am glad that your HSG wasn't as bad as you thought and that your tubes are clear.

I had my HSG this cycle and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be either.

I need to have an ultra sound bc they didn't get a good view of my uterus, but they said my tubes are clear.

My Ov date was 2 days later this cycle than normal.

Good Luck

I think its possible I may O late too. I normally O today (CD13) but so far no positive OPK yet (although I haven't tested yet today ...). We're on the BD every other day schedule anyway, so I should cover it.
