I got a message from my OB-GYN today...
She said. My ultrasound came back perfectly normal. That the only thing of interest is small follicles

I had a very similar experience last month during my last cycle. I went for an U/S (at my own request) and asked the tech what those "spots" on my ovaries were. She said they were follicles, and then showed me a dominant follicle (this was CD 13) in my right ovary. She did not express any concern and I left thinking that was totally normal.
A week later I got a call from the NP at my doc's office, saying that those basically meant that my ovaries were polycystic. With that one phone call, my outlook on TTC changed, because now I am full of doubt, thinking a woman with PCOS is bound to have all kinds of trouble TTC.
I have learned a little since then, and after calling back to get more info I felt better. I would definitely call and ask someone at that office to clarify exactly what they saw and what that meant. If they tell you that you have PCOS, don't panic. It is a very broad diagnosis for something that affects ever woman differently. It really might not make a difference in your TTC experience at all.
For me, my NP is convinced that I am ovulating on my own...although I have yet to have any bloodwork to confirm this. I will probably go on Clomid anyway since I have had some anovulatory cycles in the past and don't want to waste any time.
Get some more info.

Hi Rebecca, I would schedule a follow up with your OBGYN and talk about getting some b/w done or starting fertility drugs (like Clomid) if you haven't already or going to see an RE.
I just went to my Dr today and they sent me for b/w and the u/s next week but I have a follow up to discuss the findings.
Hope everything was normal and you get your BFP soon.
Thank you for your response. I have been an emotional wreck. The dr said she thinks I may have PCOS but she needs for me to have bloodwork. I am disappointed because my old ob-gyn told me I did not have PCOS. I feel like I have been wasting soo much time with these long cycles.

Hi Rebecca,
I am sorry to hear about what you've been going through.
Hi Britt!
I am less down then I was when she first said PCOS. I need to have bloodwork done. I am hoping to get it done tomorrow so I can have my results by Tuesday. The Lab is suposed to be open, No appointments needed! So I am gonna try and get it over with. The sooner the better!
