Well I’m officially on CD98. I was just wondering if anybody could give their thoughts about what would be good for me to ask the Dr. I just feel inexperienced at this whole thing… or Should I just continue to wait it out?
DH and I finally decided that I should go to the Dr. I was just hoping for dear AF or for a BFP but neither want to come. Here’s the low down. I was regular 28 cycle before I went on BC. Was on it for a couple of months then we thought we’d ttc, but that ended in a MC. I went back on BC for over a year. I had 4 “regular” cycles of 35 days, but then I haven’t had AF since June 24th.
Thanks for taking time to read this scattered brained message!!

p.s. Just another question… How do I change my login name?

I just saw the doc last week since I have not had my period since 7/27...I am on cd#65 and going nuts waiting...so you must be really crazy by now...LOL...my doctor put me had me take Provera once a day for 5 days and that is supposed to induce AF within 3-7 days after taking it. Well...I took the last one last Wed and still no AF...I am getting a little anxious. I had been on bcps for 12 yrs and stopped in early June. I had two 26-27 day cycles and now this one. My doc said i had probably not ovulated since stopping BCP's, so here I am. I would definately see your doctor. They will be able to help you get your cycles back on track and make sure you are ovulating. Good luck!!

PS...sorry not sure how to change your name...probably under your profile :)
I don't know what questions to ask, but I agree that going to the doctor is the best thing to do now. You went from being pretty regular to 98 days! They should definitely check that out and make sure there isn't something going on! They can then jumpstart you with provera or something (I have heard several on this board have done that). Just make sure to write down whatever questions you have. Also write down your cycle info like you told us and take any charts you may have. Write down any strange symptoms you have had that could mean something...
Hope this helps!

Anyway... here's a little bit of the lowdown. Your doctor will want to take some blood (don't they always?). Common tests to run will be your LH and FSH, as well as prolactin. Your doc may test for a variety of other hormones, including progesterone and estrogen levels, DHEAS, etc. Be sure to ask your doctor what s/he is testing your blood for, and ask the lab tech when the results will be back. Most likely, your Dr. will also prescribe progesterone (brand names Provera or Prometrium) to induce bleeding.
You might ask your doctor what his/her regular "protocol" might be in this situation. Some doctors like to induce one cycle with progesterone, then see if that "jump-started" your system sufficiently to result in your next AF within 35 days or less. Some other doctors are a little more quick with the trigger, and will talk about starting you on some ovulation-induction medication (i.e., Clomid) right after your progesterone withdrawal bleeding starts... but that probably will depend on your age and time ttc too.
Beyond that, my only suggestion is to just do your research - iVillage has a great Fertility channel that can arm you with knowledge, and you can also search www.webmd.com for terms like anovulation, Clomid, Prometrium, etc., or you can always do a google search. Doing a lot of research made me feel like I was in control and empowering myself - after so many days of my body not cooperating with me, that was important to me.
Good luck to you, and keep us posted on your progress!
