Hi,
Firstly here's a quick background on me.
I'm 34 from the UK and TTC #1 DH is 36.
I was on Depo for years (with no AF), then had 3 months of nothing after Depo.
Then 3 cycles of no Ovulation.
I finally O'd last cycle and I am just coming to the end of this cycle.
Both last cycle and this cycle have been very similar. I O'd on cd 14/15, started spotting at 9

hi!! i dont know if depo is like this, but it sounds like it - after i give birth, my cycles start slowly, with a short LP, and then finally get more normal and more fertile. i took one depo shot like 15 years ago, and it took a year for me to be normal again! and since after BOTH kids, it took that long, it is obviously the timeframe for my body.
ANYWAY, my point is that it sounds like about the same thing, recovering from birth or coming off depo. What i do to jump start my fertility and lengthen my LP is to take 100 mg of vitamin B6 daily. my LP went form 8-9 days to 12 days in one cycle.
Prog. cream is supposed to help with LPD too, but it is dangerous in my opinion, as you have to continue it well into the pregnancy or you might lose the pregnancy. with the B6, you just stop taking it when you get a post test.
BUt yes, you can get both those products at a pharmacy or health food store. i say go for the B6 and see what happens after a month. it worked for me both times (got PG with #2 and more recenlty #3 after taking B6 for my short LP.
GL!

Jenny,
Thanks very much for your reply.
Do you take the 100 mg B6 once a day or twice a day?
And can I start on any cycle day (need to buy some)?
How long after starting to take it did you get your BFP?
Many thanks
Julie x

Thanks Rebecca,
I'm travelling to a meeting this morning, but I think I might sneak in a detour to the health food shop on the way back to the office :)

Having-faith,
We need to thank Iggy because she's the one who mentioned to me that my LP was short. Thanks Iggy x
I have bought:
Vit B6 100mg
Vit E 100ug
Evening primrose 1000mg
from the Health Food Shop.
My Zita West book mentioned the Vit E nd Eve Primrose but not strengths so I asked the lady in the health food shop.
AF arrived today so I will start taking the vits along with the Agnus Castus (Vitex) that I alreasy have and see what happens.
I have also booked a tel consult with a dr at my surgery tomorrow, but whether it will help I have no idea.
I would love to be Pg for Christmas and be able to tell family at Christmas...
Good Luck, are you going to try B6??
Julie

Amy,
I've taken mine already too :)
Maybe we'll be cycle buddies this cycle. Lets hope we both get our BFP's and the end of this cycle.
Let's keep each other informed of how we get on.
Good Luck

I had booked a telephone consultaion with a female Dr at our practice. I can't remember her name, but they have a few 'almost qualified' or just qualified GP's there and they change a lot.
She was really nice. I mentioned that I thought my LP was perhaps too short, especially with the early spotting and cramps.
She started to say that just bc a cycle is chort is doesn't mean the LP is short bc not everyone Ov's on day 14.
I told her that I know the date I O bc I'm charting and she said 'Good' as if charting was the most natural thing in the world.
It is great to have a GP think like that YAY.
My low Progesterone level when I had my blood test wasn't low enough to stand out as a LPD, it was just low as in it could have been the wrong day.
She said that my cycle may get longer, the further I get away from the Depo.
Bc my progesterone isn't too low, she didn't prescribe anything.
We talked about Vit B6 and she said there have been some encouraging studies that proved it works to lengthen the LP.
There have also been some studies that said it didn't work. She said give it a try bc it certainly won't do any harm.
I have decided that I really like charting and I may even use it after TTC and Pg.
It is so great knowing my cycle and being able to plan things. I can now put in the diary bit of my mobile phone the day O is due and the day AF is due and it feels great.
Pre-Depo I never ever knew my cycles properly. I possibly did retrospectively, in that I'd have realised if AF was really late, but I couldn't plan anything.
I like the fact that (apart from being not Pg) your temps / symptoms
