I have an apoitment with the prenatal nurse tomorrow, but it seems like all of my pregnancy symptoms have gone away. Should i ask for another US to make sure things are still ok? I got to see and hear the heartbeat last week, but i feel like im not even pregnant any more.

help?!

Hi,

I would avoid doing too many ultrasounds, but rather ask her to repeat your bloodwork, to confirm that your hormone level is rising appropriatly.

I guess it depends on how badly you want peace of mind, and how much your insurance will cover or how much you are willing to pay out of pocket for that peace of mind. How far along are you?

As someone who lost 2 pregnancies between weeks 6 and 7, I personally would do it. In fact with ds, my OB did a u/s at week 7 and again at week 9 and then one more at the next appt. just to make sure all was still OK. I had a very understanding OB. (I never had any symptoms with any of them...even with ds, so I had nothing to verify a viable pg except a heartbeat on u/s). For me, it made a difference between living in fear and being relaxed. It also made my blood pressure come down. My bp at the beginning of my appts would be 10-15 points higher than after I saw the heartbeat on the monitor.

Multiple u/s will have no negative effect on you or the baby, so there is no medical reason to avoid it...only monetary reasons.
