Hi -

I don't know for sure but I thought it was more towards 8 months when they don't want you to fly.

I would think an early 6 months is okay.

I think the rule is no flying in your 3rd trimester, but I'm guessing that if your dr says it's ok you would prob. be ok in month 7...I think some airlines have specific rules about not flying after week x even with a dr's note.

From everything I read there's no real flying restriction for being pregnant, they suggest walking around a lot on the plane to help prevent blood clots from sitting, and keeping well hydrated. There's a theory that flying in your last month at 32,000feet can potentially induce contractions, but it's not proven and there's no conclusive study done on it. Basically I'd guess if you're not flying in the end of your 8th/9th month you should be fine. Going into labor on board is really the only issue, but even then airline staff are supposedly trained to handle situations like that and do emergency landings in the event. I travel a TON for work, so it's unavoidable for me when I become pregnant, I presented this question to my gyn and she basically just told me everything that I read in books, so I'll be doing it up till my 8th most likely when it happens.
