SOS-"Sisters of Support" Check in 9/11

Our thoughts and prayers today are focused on those that have been so deeply effected by the events of 9/11. All of the lives that were so tragically taken from loved ones. But, our lives go on, and we must move forward and be grateful for each and every day we have.

Our Devotional for today: Today is Special

Source: 15 Minute Devotions for Couples

Scripture Reading: Psalm 89:15-18

Key Verse: "Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord."

Today is not just an ordinary day. It's one like no other day we have ever lived. " This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24). No matter if it's raining, snowing, blowing, or boiling, we need to rejoice and be glad in this day. Let's do something special: Make a new meal or clothes item, stroll through the park, fly a kite with the children, paint the bathroom, clean out a closet.

Today is not an ordinary day. Today God has opened new opportunities, the past is history, and the future won't be until tomorrow. Today is all we can live. So let's celebrate. Let's read a poem, write a poem, write a song, or sing a song of praise. God delights in showering us with His very special blessings. "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows " (James 1:17).

Today is a special day because we realize that God freely offers us His best gifts to enjoy. In John 10:10 Jesus states, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." He wants us to have a full and abundant life. He has spread a banquet for us.

Since this is a special day, let's thank God for this free gift of life. Let's praise Him for who He is. Let's trust Him for the days to come. This abundant life fills the God-void in our lives, and it also provides us with power to overcome the problems of life. So step out in faith and give Jesus all your cares!

Prayer:

Father God, let us rejoice in this day that You have given us. We want to count our blessings. Let us look at today as a gift from You. We want to be good stewards of Your time. No matter what comes into our lives today, we know You have screened it so that we are capable of handling it. We want to rejoice and be glad in this day. Amen.

Hello,

I am very uphappy. My boyfriend(soon to be my husband)and I are trying to have a baby. We have tried like three times to get pregnant. I went on Birth control pills last year around September. I ended the pills around the first of March. Like I said we've tried three times to get pregnant. Why can't I get pregnant? Today I went to take a pregnancy test to see if I was pregnant or not. I was hoping that I was, but I wasn't. I was so unhappy with myself. I mean what does it take to get pregant? If you could help me in anyway I would really appreciate your help. If your friends have any advice I would love to hear their opinion too. I hope to hear from someone soon!

Thanks, Jennifer

Jennifer,

Sometimes it just takes people awhile to get pregnant. Have you seen your obgyn about your concerns? He/she may want to run some blood tests or have your boyfriend do a semen analysis-depending on how long you've been trying. You should also try charting your cycles to determine if/when you are ovulating. Try www.fertilityfriend.com to start charting. Hope this was helpful.
