My mom suggested that that is what our problem might be. It is starting to make sense. That is what she had when she was ttc many many years ago. After 5 yrs ttc--she finally got pg with my sister (naturally). Then it was another 4 1/2 yrs before she got pg with me. ANyway, has anybody ever heard of this, had it, have any advice or anything? I am going to bring it up to my dr. She never mentioned it being a possibility. I "O" every month; DH's swimmers were so so at his SA a couple of months ago. I have regular AF's. Thanks for any input. I also read something about it on babycenter.com and sounded like it is possible. I guess overtime my immune system built up DH's sperm antibodies. HHHMMMMM!!!!

I saw an episode of ER with this once... a newlywed couple kept coming in, the woman was having problems every time after sex! So finally they resorted to having sex in their car, parked outside the ER - LOL!

If your Mom had this, then by all means, bring it up with your doctor.

Good luck to you!

Could it be a hostile environment that you're referring to Sheree? Like what Monica has on "friends"???? geex- me and my tv shows!LOL! I think that is to do with the ph levels in your vagina/cm that doesn't react well with sperm. If this is the case, your Dr can determine if it is your issue by doing a post coital.....you bd and go into the Dr right away for them to take a sample from you cervix area to see if the sperm are still swimming or if they've been killed off by your inhospitable cm. Hmmmm....I hear it's rare, but it could be.

Thanks for all of your comments. The post coital is a good idea. I will suggest it to my DR. That way maybe we can do that test first and then if the swimmers are still doing good, I will have an HSG. Guess we'll see!

Thanks again!

There are certain Enzymes that can actually make your body reject the sperm. My sis has been ttc for 5 years and recently her second RE sent her for a set of tests (not normally done) that can tell whether or not you are producing these enzymes.

There is a plan of treatment for it should they find the problem.

Thanks! I have never heard of that before. I am glad to have the info. Sounds interesting. I wonder if it is more common than we think?

The acidity can be killed by douching with a baking soda and water based douche, such as those you buy in the store. It helps with conception in general as sperm need a base enviornment, hence why women have orgasms- releases a base fluid to help the sperm survive. Also why more boys than girls are concieved when the woman has an orgasm or uses the douche. Douching too much can cause serious problems too, so talk to your doctor about it or do it very sparingly (like only when you *know* your about to o), but I know it does help immensly. :)
