Starting Clomid next Cycle

I had my 2nd appointment with the infertility clinic yesterday.

I met the actual Consultant RE (rather than one of his staff), and he's very nice.

Blood tests all came back normal. One male hormone is slightly high but nothing to worry about, he says some women genentically have a higher amount and suffer from some facial hair. My Mum does since the 'change' so I guess I have that to look forward to :-)

Tubes are fine and so are ovaries and uterus. BUT there is scarring, so if my tubes and ovaries aren't quite lined up then Nada.

The upshot is that I have 4 months supply of Clomid and if I'm not pregnant by October then I go back to see him, he checks my weight (BMI needs to be under 30) and refers me for IVF, for which there is no waiting list.

So Clomid, here I come....

Rachel,

I knew that I knew you from another board but couldn't remember which.

I will be taking 50mg from CD2 - CD6.

I wonder why different Dr's have us start it on different cycle days?

I'm glad that you told me that the s/e's happen after the 'mid :-)

My Dr said I would likely get bloated and diahrrea, but bc of my bowel surgeries I already get imodium on prescription, so we kind of joked about that.

I had read that clomid dries of CM, so I ordered some pre-seed last night.

If my cycle is it's normal regular self and I didn't by some mircle get PG this cycle, then I think I'll be starting Clomid a week tomorrow.

Good Luck, keep in touch and let me know how you get on.

Julie x

Hi ... do you mind if I join up with you ladies? We seem to be on the same track. DH and I just started Cycle #11 on Wednesday :( I'm in my second cycle of Clomid (50mg CD5-9). I do ovulate on my own every cycle, so this is just to try for a max of three cycles before we begin IUI in July if need be. Were you both also ovulating on your own?

This journey is such a heart-breaking one. I never thought I'd be still in it 11 cycles later :(

Hi Robin,

Jump on Board that's fine with me. x

I ovulate on my own, but I have internal scarring from bowel surgeries which is most likely the reason for me not having got Pg yet.

My RE wants to try 4 cycles of Clomid to see if the 'boost' is all I need and if it doesn't work I'm straight to IVF.

I never get a dark line on OPK's though, so maybe I will now :-)

Good Luck, I hope we all get clomid babies.

Now I just need AF so I can start.......
