Starting Progesterone

Hello all! I am so nervous and I would like to know if any of you can answer my question. I miscarried 3 years ago at 7 1/2 weeks and my bloodwork revealed low progesterone. They weren't sure if that was a result of the m/c or if that caused it. I had a healthy pregnancy right afterwards- started taking prometrium as soon as I got a BFP and continued until 10 weeks.
I m/c again in November 2008 at 7 weeks. That was the only BFP I've gotten and this is our 9th cycle of TTC. I have the prometrium at home, ready to go. I'm afraid to wait to take it until I get a BFP because often, I start my period only 10 days after ovulation and I'm afraid that I am conceiving but not given enough time to implant.
So my question is, is it ok to start the prometrium at 8 DPO? Will it cause any trouble or will it help give me enough time for implantation? I'm so nervous. I "feel" like we conceived this time- my nipples have been sore ever since I O'd and montgomery tubercles are more noticible. I have some light cramping at times and I don't know whether that means good or bad at this point.
I know this is long. Thanks for reading and I appreciate some help!

I am so sorry for your losses. Has your doctor ever mentioned that your leutal phase is too short? They say that if you ovulate late, or have shorter time between ovulation and your period, it doesn't give your lining enough time to thicken and handle implantation. I had heard that some doctors will start patients on Prometrium right after ovulation to help the lining. I actually just had a m/c in December and had my first O today, since the m/c. I have a message into my doctor to see if I should do anything. He had mentioned having me start Prometrium earlier and I didn't O until CD 26, so I am a little worried it is too late for my lining to thicken.
I took prometrium with my first son. I had previously had 2 mc and blood tests revealed that low prg. was the problem and was advised to take it right after ovulation. I was guessing my O then and ended up taking it before O and it delayed O in the end. I got preg. from that late O though:-) Anyway...I say take it right after O, charting is a good way to make sure of that. Good luck!!!! I'm waiting on my prog. test to see if I'm having pg. issues too.
