Holly- If you o'd CD16, then you guys are covered from bding. Jeff doesn't have any sperm issues, so it is totally fine. I think checking to see if you o'd is sketchy. I wouldn't bother doing the u/s. A corpus luteum can look like a mature follicle, so can a cyst or a follicle that failed to open. Plus with two others at 14mm, you are likely to have some cysts that may be getting bigger. It will be too hard to tell what is what. I would do a 7dpo prog test and see what that shows. And if you don't get pg this cycle, I would either stick to timed bd or do back to back IUIs. Google IUI timing. There's a study that says that IUIs are most effective six hours before or after o.....which is so hard to time perfectly!

As for the octuplet mom, it is a sticky situation. I don't think a RE has the right to dictate that you need to be married to have a baby or that having six kids at home means you aren't entitled to one more. Nor should the fact that the person is bankrupt/unemplyed have anything to do with it.... But when you add up all those factors together, it doesn't look right! And eight embryos is insane! I've heard of people putting 5 back, but they are 45 years old, with high FSH and no other kids. Nutty! I think the world would have been way more understanding if she did an IUI that was overly successful!

Hey everyone

I heard an update about the octuplets last night on Geraldo- The woman worked at a fertility clinic and the donor sperm guy worked there too, so this could explain some of the weirdness like why would someone do this- perhaps a doc didn't do it or if he did perhaps she was a really good friend, I dunno, but I thought it was weird that she worked at a fertility clinic.

Em- I had 24 hours of positive OPKS and ovulated the same day as the last positive so this has to be it for you! Not anything strong yet for IPS but crampy feelings down there as well as irritability like crazy and being emotional. My chart is also being wacky- I've never had this downward tend at this time in my cycle. I'd like to think it is something but common sense tells me it's nothing. I gues we'll see.

Holly- I am upset with you but I totally get what Doogie is saying- I often get a temp rise during the day and I can feel my body temp going up so perhaps it just wan't complete yet when you woke up on Friday. I am excited to see what your progesterno shows! With DH's swimmers being so strong, some of them must have gotten in there!!!

Steph- OK I am gonna be a major pusher- you need to POAS - your chart is awesome and the back ache!!! I so hope this is it for you!

Rish- Woo-Hoo for the big screen TV that is awesome and just in time for the superbowl if you like that kind of stuff- I just like the appetizers served during it as well as the commercials if my team or a team I care about isn't in it! In my house, when DH gets something, that means I get smething, too, so maybe he can give in on something you want that comes in a little up... LOL

Hope everyone else is having a great morning!

Holly,

If I had to guess, I would say CD 16 or 17 are the most likely, unless your temp jumps up a lot tomorrow. It is hard though, because all of your temps are clustered so closely to each other. Maybe post it in the "Can you look at my chart?" section and see what people vote on. I think whenever you o'd, you have a great chance because you bd'd every other day and did the IUI. Even if the IUI wasn't timed right, the bding still has you covered!

I'm feeling a little frustrated right now. I just read over my IVF packet, and I'm suppose to start Lupron during my luteal phase. I can't start it this LP because we bd'd during ovulation (you need to be on birth control because the Lupron causes m/c since it shuts down all reproductive hormones). My AF is due on Valentine's Day (lucky me! LOL), so my next LP will start around March 1st. I'll be due to start injects around March 15th, so my egg retrieval won't be until around the 1st of April. That seems so far away!!

I'm so sick of "waiting"....waiting to o, waiting to poas, waiting for AF, waiting to start injects, Clomid, IVF, etc.

Amy,

Your chart does look different! I'm thinking implantation dip? At 5dpo, it is a strong possibility!

The fact that the woman worked at an IF clinic makes the thing even weirder.... I'm really curious to see what will happen to that clinic. I imagine heads will roll somewhere!

I'm hoping you get a surprise natural bfp this cycle. But if not, then i'm hoping the time flies by for you.

You guys should see all the prerequisites for my IVF cycle:

ME:
-2 hour glucose tolerance test
-pap smear and breast exam
-fasting prolactin levels, T4 and TSH
-rubella titre
-get HSG films to RE
-clymadia screen
-infection screen in cervical mucous and urine
-HIV test
-injection teaching/ IVF instruction class
And others that I can't remember

HIM:
-semen analysis
-semen cutlure
-semen ID panel (don't know what that is)

I guess I will need the month to get all this stuff done!
LOL

I hadn't heard the woman worked at a fertiltiy clinic. I guess that explains how she was able to afford the ivf.

I'll gladly take the natural BFP! Thanks! It would be great, but I'm not going to count on it, kwim?

The whole thing makes me so mad. This is why fertility treatments still have a bit of a stigma to them.

All three of my boys are sleeping right now. I love it when this happens :-)
