Still have a line on OPK - Please help

Hello girls. Yes, it's me again with yet another question about the OPK test. Yesterday I thought that I was ovulating because I had EWCM, some mild cramping and a + OPK test. However, we didn't get to bd because my dh was sick. So today, I don't seem to have the EWCM nor do I have the cramping, but the test is still showing a + line. It's just as dark as yesterday's line. Both were just slightly darker than the control line. What's that mean? Could I have still not ovulated even though my CM seems dryer today? My dh and I haven't bd in a while because of concerns with some m/c issues and didn't yesterday because he was sick. So, I guess I'm just wondering if there is still a chance even though some of the signs aren't the same as yesterday considering the OPK test is still +.

Any ideas?

Hi Susan,

From what I understand, your LH surge can take place over a 24 hour period. Thus, you can have 2 days of + OPKs if you hit the beginning and the end of it. I'd say BD like crazy tonight :)

Good luck,

Thanks Melissa. We're definately going to bd tonight. I'm just trying to understand the whole OPK thing. So I shouldn't have a line tomorrow right?

Most people will only have one positive OPK if they test daily. I have seen people with as many as three days of positives. It is hard to predict the ovulation day exactly, but usually its from 12 to 48 hours from the start of the surge, so you might have ovulated already, will today, or maybe tomorrow (today is most likely). If you were also temping you could tell which day your temps go up, which is usually the day AFTER O. THe best way is to use a combination of temps, CM, OPK or other tools and when put together, you can tell pretty close the day of o. Try not to stress too much about the exact day, because you may not be able to know for sure. Just go BD today and tomorrow and maybe past that.

Another thought I had is that since you recently m/c, you could still have HCG in your system. I have read that HCG and LH are very similar, so the HCG could cause you to have stronger OPK results, or false positive results. I don't want to get you down, but this is something to consider.

I hope this helps. If you want to be able to pinpoint O as close as possible , I highly recomment charting your temps along with your CM and OPKs.

Hope this helps and GOOd Luck! Hope DH feels better today!

Well, I was thinking about the HcG level also. When I called yesterday to get the results of my tests, the nurse said my HcG level was down to 2.5 (below pregnancy level).

I did start charting my temp after I started what I thought was my AF on 8/29. I'm not sure how to post it though. It basically says Monday was 96.9, Tuesday was 97.0 and today is 97.1. So, there is a slight increase each day but no spike yet. I thought the spike was right after ovulation? The 96.9 was a low point (maybe dip), but I've had temps that low twice since the m/c. The nurse said my temps might be screwed up for a few weeks. Also, my CM was EW yesterday and a little on Monday but not really today.
