Stopped BCP - withdrawl bleeding & "O"

Hello,
I am not too good at the abbreviations yet, please bear with me :) We are TTC as of last month. On 9/17 I started my last AF. Then, on 9/28 I stopped taking the pill after a few days. On 9/30 I started bleeding (was as heavy as a period for about 3 days). My question is, was this withdrawl bleeding (guessing yes). More importantly, does this coulnt as a period...do I predict Ovulation from the first day of my last period or does this withdrawl episode count as a period and I start ovulationg approx. 14 days after 9/30.? Sorry to be confusing, I can't find the answer to this anywhere! Also, I have some pain on my right lower side tonight, after BD. Any thoughts on that? Much love and thanks.

I am assuming you started a new pack of bcp's and then stopped them a few days afterwards, so if I am right you would have had bleeding from starting then stopping the pills. I am going to say start counting from 9/30. It takes about three months for a womans body to re-adjust to not being on bcp's and get on a normal hormonal track. Were your AF's regular before bcp's? They may seem weird for the first few months, every woman is different, however, it does take time after being on bcp's for your body to get to it's "normal" hormonal levels. There is information on trying to conceive after taking bcp's on ttc site. Good luck to you! I hope I helped some.

The same thing happened to me. I was on the birth control patch before TTC. I had my normal period and then started a new round of patches. In the middle of the second patch, which is the second week after my period, I took it off. I immediately had a period (that afternoon) that lasted about six days. I started counting from that period and have since ovulated. At least I am pretty sure I did according to my temp readings. So I would count from the first day of the second bleeding and consider it CD1. Hope this helps and good luck.
