Ok so my husband and i are TTC for our first child. I got off birth control back in January and then found out that I have Endemetriosis, Which is horrible. My husband works over seas and is gone a month at a time so his time home we take full adavantage of. I started charting and keeping close watch to my body. I started my period last friday, which was may 17, and ended yesterday. So i have been using the clear blue ovulation tests and the instructions and started testing on day 5 of my cycle. The weird thing is I tested this morning, which is day 6 of the cycle, and a smiley face appeared..... definately was not expecting that. I thought your peak was about the eleventh day or so of the cycle not the sixth. So of course we took advantage of the smiley face and done the deed. But about an hour later or so i started bleeding again..... never had that happen right after sex... it was just strange to me, please dont think i am stupid!! But what the heck is going on????

I have a similarly strange thing happen to me almost every cycle. AF will go for 4-5 day then I will have a full day of no bleeding and then 1 more day of light bleeding/spotting. Also, after the first 2 days AF stops at night and resumes each morning - it's strange!  Most people do ovulate between days 10-14 of their cycle, but it can certainly very.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think as long as your luthel phase is long enough, 12-14 days, you should be fine.

How long is your cycle normally? Since you started testing this early I'm going to make the assumption that it's shorter than the standard 28? kimmynoel is correct that it matters more that your luteal phase is long enough. Your body needs about 12 days for the fertilized egg to implant and release enough hormones for your body to recognize that it's pregnant. I read up on the ovulation test you are using, and was surprised to see that it doesn't recommend a certain time of day. Most OPKs have you test in the afternoon, so that you can catch the hormone rise. The bleeding could have just been residual from AF, if it was just a small amount and wasn't for long I wouldn't be too concerned.
