Symptom of low progesterone?
| Sat, 10-04-2003 - 2:18pm |
I've posted quite a few times. I've been trying to find resons I'm having chem. pgs. I was told to chart this month even though on hold ttc. So I know I'm not pg. After temping on fertilty friend it showed my o date was the cd 18 (like last month). On cycle daY 21 my temp went way below coverline and was bleeding a little. Next day cd 22 the temp went back up and no bleeding! This has NEVER happened to me, not even with first chem. pg. Did anyone conceive with low prog? And what were the symptoms?

I am not sure I understand your question... did you actually have a timed BD?? That would probably be a bit early for implantation bleeding but who knows?? As for low progesterone, I conceived with low progesterone when a nurse said it was not possible!! I knew she was wrong b/c I already had some symptoms, sore BB's, tired, etc... They felt I guess like "normal" symptoms - if there is such a thing. When I found out through ++HPT with FRE, I immediately got it confirmed through the DR and started on progesterone supplements for the whole first trimester. My DS from that cycle is a healthy, happy little boy!!
I don't know if I answered your question, but I hope I helped a little!
Good luck!

If your temp dip was a one-day thing, I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you look at ovulatory cycles on FF's chart gallery, you will see that quite a few women have some sort of temp dip a few days after O. I think women with low progesterone see quite a few temps dip below coverline.
I'm sorry you've experienced two chem pgs; they suck! (I'm coming off my first.) Chemical pregnancies are estimated to be relatively common, just a lot of women never even know they had them. If you're still concerned, maybe talk to your doctor to see if they can measure your progesterone levels at 7DPO next time. That should help with a diagnosis.
Good luck to you!

Progesterone does keep the pregnancy going. Normally when a dr. office tests for the HCG they automatically test Proge. did they not test yours? As you may know progesterone does keep the pregnancy going and until the placents produces it and takes over after 12 weeks then supplements are given if need be. One thing is progesterone does flucuate through out the day I was told. At 5wk PG mine was 28.9 and then 6wk it was 17 and I started freaking and then 7 wk it was 9! I was floored and worried. I was put on progesterone suppositories at 100mg 2x a day until after 12 weeks. It went up to 16.9 the next week. Some women can carry full term with low progesterone and some can't. I honestly do think a lot of unexplained miscarriages are due to low progesterone because dr. don't monitor it enough. i just had a feeling something was wrong and asked to be tested at the 7wk mark and I am grateful I did. So next time please request that the dr. monitor your progesterone. {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}} And I am so sorry you are dealing with this.
