Temp charting question

Well I've signed up with FF and I'm going out tonight to buy a BBT so that I can officially start charting tomorrow. I have a question about temping though. I know you need to have had 3 hours of sleep before you temp but what about those times when you wake up for just a minute look at the clock and go back to sleep. Sometimes I'll wake up at 2:00 or 3:00 and then again around 5:00 or 5:30. It's only for a minute and I look at the clock and go right back to sleep. I usually get up around 6:00. Will that throw my temps off? If I wake up at 5:00 should I temp at that point even though I'm not actually "waking up" or getting out of bed. I hope this doesn't seem like a silly question but I want to make sure I'm doing this right.

TIA!

Hi!

FF says to take the temp at approx. the same time each morning. So if you normally wake at 7am, take it then. If you happen to wake up earlier but still plan to go back to sleep, take it when you normally wake up otherwise you'll start throwing your chart off. Resist the urge to take it in the middle of the night!!

One thing I do is if I'm waking up several hours earlier than normal I will not temp and "disregard" the temp that day on the chart. The only bad time to do this is around O.

Hope this helps! Happy Charting!

They just mean to temp before you get out of bed for the day. I've temped for almost 3 years now and I have tossed and turned, woke up a hundred times a night to look at the clock and have even snuck to the potty a time or two below the 3 hour deadline and my temps stay regular. You'll get to know your temps and what you can and can't get away with. But since your just starting, really follow the guidelines to get a good pattern on your temping. I wish you the very best and feel free to ask us anything!

Thanks for the advice ladies! I want to do everything right with this chart so that I can tell if O this cycle. I'm pretty positive that I didn't O last cycle (which was C1) so I'm very excited and nervous about what will happen with C2.

Thanks again!
