Temp vs. EWCM? Which is right?

I usually just lurk, but I'm hoping I can get some input from some of you. We are TTC#2, and I've begun to notice a weird trend in my charts. I only have 4 charts - 2 from TTC DS and 2 from TTC#2 now. I've noticed on all 4 that my temps start to rise before my other fertility signs go away. So, from looking at temps, I would think I had already O'ed, but I still have some EWCM and my CP is still somewhat soft and open. Sorry I don't have my charts to post, but let's see if I can explain it.
I usually have 5 days of EWCM and high, soft, open CP. Day 3 is the most EWCM/high/soft/open. Them my temp takes a small jump on day 4 of EWCM (but seeminly big enough at .2 above others) and I think I O'ed, but the other signs stick around for 2 more days, them my temp usually makes another jump on the day the EWCM goes away and CP becomes low, firm and closed. I don't remember seeing anything about this in TCOYF, and I had to return it to the library!
When do you think I am O'ing? I want to know because I think it's best for DH and I to just BD twice during those 5 days - he works long hours and is always tired. I want to be sure I'm getting the most bang for my buck!!
TIA,

Based on how my luteal phases have been looking, I think mapping your O based on your thermal shift as a priority over CM is more accurate. TCOYF basically says that you should have a cervical fluid dryup almost immediately after O... but I'm not so sure I buy it. I think there are lots of us who have a slightly more delayed CF dryup, and might get EWCM a few days after O... but again, I'd say keep up the BD Fest until it's all gone.
Good luck to you!
