Hey there,

I'm in the same boat as you are....I went off BC in April 2008, ever since my cycles have been between 42-48 days. It's really frustrating because you are only getting to ttc half as much as everyone else. What I can tell you is I have started to recently gain 2 days per cycle (i'm projected to have a 42 day cycle this month.)

I would suggest you visit our OB/GYN. I just had all the fertility bloodwork done and its normal. I'm going back next week to discuss how we can help shorten these cycles. It's worth a trip to the doctor, I know several of my friends have had similar issues and used clomid to help shorten things.

Good luck!!!!

I will keep you posted.

My friend, who had some infertility issues gave me some advice before I went to the doctor. I found its all in the way you "word" things. In my instance, I was off the pill since April. When the doctor asked how long we had been trying, I told her I had been having unprotected sex since April. In all honesty, I have only been charting for 3 months, but I still considered the 3 months of unprotected sex trying. She took me more seriously this way. I was able to get the appointment fairly quickly because I described the nurse my long cycles and how uncomfortable they were. This way, she could get me in on a "sick" visit, rather than a yearly visit.

Also, print out your charts and take them with you. That really helped her take me seriously and she was able to look at my chart and see when I ovulated.

When in doubt, be persistent!!! I went to two doctors before someone actually made me feel like I wasn't crazy.

i will keep you posted and you be sure to keep me posted when you get in to the see the doctor!

Hi,

I am glad to hear that I am not crazy. I have always had predictable cycles, and it seemed as soon as i started ttc they were so random. Last month i was 2 days late, and then again this month i was 2 days late. i am not at a 33 day cycle, and i am worried it will keep increasing.

I know it has only been 2 months, but those late days without a positive hpt is really disappointing.

Please fill me in on when you go to the doc, im debating if i should call or he is going to laugh at me!

My doctor started a fertility workup on me, even though we had barely begun trying yet, because my cycles were irregular and often more than 40 days.
