???Thyroid issues???

Do any of you have issues with your thyroid? I had my yearly exam yesterday. I told the doctor about my problems trying to conceive and the extremely light AF's, most spotting, that I've had now for 3 mos. I have yet to have a normal AF since going on bcp several mos. ago. I thinks it could be due to a thyroid problem. I had my blood taken yesterday and should have the results either today or tomorrow.
Also, it said perhaps I should go back on the pill for 2 cycles to hopefully kick-start things again. I think this is a horrible idea.
Has anyone else's doctor told them this? The pill is the reason why I'm in the whole mess. I now refer the bcp as the devil's pill. It has so messed my body up.
Any input is appreciated.
TIA ~Erika

Thyroid problems run in my family, its a daily pill not really a big deal, the only issue is getting the dosage right, too much makes you hyper, too little and you're a slug still. That is the only problem "we" have ever had, and that just took a few weeks of playing with the dosage to fix.
Wait for your test results before making any decisions, and then ask him why BCP vs. Thyroid Meds.
I haven't heard back from the Dr. yet, so I'm taking that as a good sign that nothing is wrong. Plus, I don't really fit the description of having thyroid issues.

I recommend (just my opinion) staying away from the pill altogether if you are TTC. I think Doctors overuse the pill. They put me on it when I was 16 because I had ovarian cysts, which come to find out are NORMAL unless they are huge, because this is how the egg matures and leaves your ovary !!! 16 years old. I haven't taken it since! Perhaps your body just needs to adjust being off the pill. Sometimes it talkes 6 months to get back to normal. I am surprised your doc didn't tell you that!
Anyway,good luck!
