Thyroid, periods and TTC Question
| Mon, 08-18-2003 - 4:36pm |
I'm still lurking, but DH and I are still trying (not actively) but my GYN said that if I was not pregnant in 6 months to come back so she can run some tests because my thyroid may be not working properly. My periods have gotten short and I cannot loose any weight even with trying ....
are there any symptoms of thyroid problms that I should be aware of? Can it cause miscarriage?
Yvonne

I think that you might need to pressure your OB into testing you now b/c hyper- or hypo- thyroidism can cause miscarriage. So even if you do get PG in the next 6 months, you can still lose the baby. If you feel that you might have the symptoms and your OB even brought it up, I would get the test done now! Sooner than later is better. Why would your doctor want to you spend 6 months in limbo when you could just take a pill once a day and get pg even sooner!
This of course is my opinion. I went for a full b/w only at 5 months TTC. If something is wrong, I want to fix it!!!
Good luck
