We decided to try and I went of BCP in Mid-may. However, my question is w.r.t travel esp. air travel during pregnancy. My jobs put me on the road every so often. I mostly fly all over the United States, about once or twice a month not more.
I might have read somewhere that flying in the first trimester is not advisable...is this true?? What are the general guidelines on flying and other kids of travel by road/trains etc?? It is too early to ask my OBGYN all this as I am not yet pg!
Any advice/pointers would be great!
Thanks,
V.

I know for some women travel can have a funky impact on ovulation schedules though... I'm afraid I don't have much to say on why, but there was a section in TCOYF about it.
Good luck to you!

3rd Trimester had to do with (once again I think, fuzzy memory here) the stress of travel and stress of flying on the body, just like if you have had a stroke etc they don't necessarily "like" you to fly. I think past a certain month the airlines may require "permission from your Dr" to fly. So they don't get stuck with a delivery on board or something like that LOL.
I know I read it on the net maybe at Pregnancytoday.com ask the experts or something. Heck go to the Ask the Experts section here and ask ;)
I am actually 10 weeks pg and I travel a lot....and things so far are a-ok. I do college recruiting for my company and I have heavy travel periods (Sept - Dec and Feb - April). I logged 105,000 frequent flier miles last year. YIKES! (I always have to fly from CA to the East Coast for my schools). Anyway, I was told that my doctor recommends not traveling past 32 weeks pg, but other than that, you should be okay. They mainly do this so that you are near your house should you go into early labor. I am sure extra unwanted stress on the body can play a part.
I hope that helps. I actually traveled last week to the East coast and I felt good....much easier since I am not big yet!
Good luck to you!
