I don't know if my previous post went through, so if this is a repeat please forgive me. I am 31yo and my husband is 30yo we have one wonderful 18mo baby boy and we are more than ready for our second. The problem is our first was a huge surprise so we are not sure how to plan for our next.A little background info, when my son was 6mo my husband was dx with testicular cancer and had his left testicle removed, of course we were devistated and thought we could not have anymore children. We have been assured that this is not going to be a problem and yesterday my DH had his one year cancer checkup and he is still cancer free with an excellent teststoerone level.I just need some advice on how to proceed from here my periods are normal and I have about a 32 day cycle my last period started on 9/15 and I know the chances of getting pregnant on the first try are slim, but it would sure be nice.Anyway I am looking foward to any info available.

Thanks,

Welcome!!!!!!

Well this is the place for info, you can find pretty much anything you want, or if you are too busy to look just ask and everyone will jump in. As a general rule you O 14 days prior to your AF starting, so you can calculate that into your current cycle and just have sex like crazy for that week.

Welcome to the board!

First off, I'm sorry to hear about the problems your husbands had - what great news that he just had a great one-year checkup! Have you had a semen analysis performed? This is much different than a testoserone level test; it might be a good thing to find out how your DH's sperm count is doing.

Ovulation typically happens 12-16 days before your AF... so if you have a 32 day cycle, you *probably* O between CD16 and CD20. It's a good idea to get in a lot of BDing in the days leading up to and including your O date. You can also get a good idea of when you are fertile by observing your cervical fluid - it will be runny/watery or clear/stretchy like eggwhites when you are at your most fertile.

And finally - a couple of resources. One - the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. Two - the website at www.fertilityfriend.com

Welcome, and the best of luck to you!
