Trying for twins?

Is anyone else trying for twins? I know moms of multiples will call me crazy, but we really want twins. I want the baby to have a playmate and best friend. My children are 6 and 10 (will be at least 7 and 11 when the new one is born if we got it right this month) so they won't be the best playmates. Plus, I get so sick when I'm pregnant and so stressed out. I don't want to go through it 2 more times. And, I'm not working right now, but I'll go back to work in a few years. I don't want a newborn in a few years when I'm working, I want them now when I can be home fulltime.

Anyone know any old wives tales or tips for twins?

Baby Aspirin once in the morning helps with blood flow and is great for women who have had previous miscarriages but to top it off, they say it can increase your chances of releasing more than one egg. I took it the last two months of TTC and I got pregnant but not with twins.

Twins runs in my mother's side of the family, my brothers are twins and there are several twin cousins but no luck here. She was 34 I believe when she was pregnant with my brothers. I am 33 but still no luck. lol

Good Luck to you!

I wouldn't call you crazy at all, it's a blessing to be parent of twins. I still want to caution you though that carrying multiples can be a high risk, very hard pregnancy. If you already experience sickness, it will only be much worse with a twin pregnancy. You are also at risk for preterm labor and babies in the NICU. Also, other pregnancy symptoms like constipation, reflux, hip pain, are worsened with multiples.

Carrying twins was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, I ended up on 6 weeks of partial bedrest and 6 weeks of strict bedrest along with being on medication to stop preterm labor. I did have healthy babies, but it was a burden on not only my husband but my son as well.

Good luck with trying to get pregnant!

Thanks. I know twins have their risk. And I know that there's very little actually in my control. Either God will give me multiples or just one or none at all.

LOL, very true! Hey, it's still fun to try, right? I really hope you can get pregnant with them if that's what you want :) I have to say it is nice to find someone that feels it's a blessing (so thank you for that!).
