TTC 15 + Months
| Tue, 03-24-2009 - 3:05pm |
Hello,
I am not sure how to start this. I am 32 and DH is 35. We have been TTC for 15 + months but had to take off two months do to medical problems. I am getting fustrated with friends telling me how easy it was for them to get preggo.
I am not good with keeping a chart. I am trying very hard to do the BBt this month along with the OPK. I did see my OBGYN and found that I have a 31 day cycle. AF came last on 3/11 so i think i should be ovulating in the next few days.
Well BBD to all.

Hi - I know where you're coming from. This was cycle 15 for me, except that we took a break. It is so hard to watch people getting pregnant all around me.
One of the nice things about charting is to verify that you are ovulating. If you aren't, that could be why it's taking so long. With a regular 31 day cycle, odds are pretty good that you are though.
Does your insurance cover infertility testing? Have you had any tests done yet? My insurance has no infertility coverage, but my doctor did some blood tests (to check my hormone levels) and got insurance to pay for it.
I too have been TTC for 18 months and took a few months off (but just for my sanity's sake).
Hello,
I am going to make an appointment after my DH has his results form his tests. If everything is fine with him, then I will push to see my Dr again.
I know this is a very sensitive issue, but my "personal opinion" for what its worth, is that you should absolutely look into things. Like, yesterday. And I don't understand what would motivate any doctor to tell you to wait MORE time after you've already been trying for 15+ months, unless there is more to it. I would absolutely find out what your insurance covers and start with the basics, like blood work.
I just had my first cycle TTC, and I had no proof anything was wrong but had some recent irregular cycles and was concerned. I was very up front with my doctor, and told him that I wanted to be very aggressive with this. Sure enough, within a couple of weeks I found out I had PCOS. I now wonder when I would have eventually found that out, and how much time that might have cost me.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong in your case, at all. I'm just saying that knowledge is power, and you should find out. If there's nothing wrong, and I hope there is not, that will at least ease your worries.

Well, where to start.
I became very sick last december after having issues with my stomach and ended in the ER (Dec 23rd). So DH and I had to put TTC on hold. I went for verious tests for weeks and they couldn't find anything wrong. I had my Gallbladder removed almost 3yrs ago.(So that was ruled out). I lost several pounds and had issues trying to eat. They put me on some meds and finally in Feb. I started to feel better and my weight leveled out. They started to lower the dose that I need to take to help me eat.
During the testing they found a cyst on the right ovary. My follow up everything looked good. My lining and everything was at the exceptable sizes. So, That was 3 1/2wks ago. She (DR) would like me to give it a few months as they are taking me slowly off the meds and see if everything is okay. Mean while DH is going on with his testing.
I hope this helps you with why I am not pushing right now. I really don't want to be poked. I do know that they only thing that was a problem for blood work was my Liver enzymes.
